Workout with the Right Footwear
For a safe and effective workout, be sure to match your shoes with your activity. If you work out on concrete, look for cushioned shoes. If you hike hills and inclined terrain, look for shoes with good traction. If you play tennis, you should find a shoe that supports you through quick direction changes. If you’re a fan of Zumba classes, find a shoe that limits foot movement, but also allows for pivoting.*
When searching for the perfect shoe, remember that the best time to measure your feet is at the end of the day when your feet are at their largest. Once you pick a pair, first wear them inside of your house to ensure that they are comfortable. If the back of the shoes slide up your heels, or if the shoes feel too tight, return them.
