Why You Shouldn’t Ignore Leg Pain
If you experience leg pain in the back of your calf, don’t ignore it! This pain could be a sign of deep vein thrombosis, which indicates a blood clot. If a blood clot moves, it can cause damage to your major organs. A blood clot that travels to your heart can cause a heart attack, and a clot that travels to your brain can cause a stroke or even death.*
Stretch your legs often and don’t ignore signs such as numb, tingly, swollen feet and cramping legs. If you experience these symptoms, visit a podiatric surgeon or vascular surgeon who will examine you with a Doppler ultrasound.
