Your young child may not realize when their shoes don’t fit properly. Luckily, many kids’ shoes have removable insoles, so you can test the fit yourself. Remove the insoles from the shoes and have your child stand on them on the floor. Make sure there is comfortable space around all of the edges, especially around the toes.*
Children’s feet tend to grow one shoe size per year. Check on their footwear throughout the year to make sure things still fit well, and test shoes’ fit at the end of the day when your child’s feet are their largest.
