Dry Your Shoes with Household Items

Wet shoes lead to odor causing bacteria. It is important to keep your shoes dry for the health of your feet. Many common household items can be used to more adequately dry your shoes. Try combining equal parts baking soda, cornstarch, and baking powder into two coffee filters. Then, staple each filter shut, and place one inside each shoe overnight. Kitty litter is another effective absorbent that you can use in place of the baking soda, cornstarch, and baking powder combination.*

Some shoe drying tactics may work better than others depending on the type of shoe. Whenever possible, dry your shoes with their tongues out, in a space with plenty of air circulation and sunlight, and remove laces and insoles to speed drying.
