The wear pattern of a shoe often gives an indication of how the foot functions. Place the shoe on a table and look at the shoe at the back of the heel counter. If the top of the shoe excessively leans in toward the opposite foot, it is likely that your foot is flexible and flat. If the top of the shoe leans excessively away from the opposite foot, it is likely that the foot is too rigid and high arched.[1]
Check out your shoe wear pattern. If they are leaning dramatically toward either direction, you need to see a foot specialist right away.
