Prevent Blisters with Proper Shoes
With the right pair of comfortable shoes you can prevent blisters. Look for soft fabrics and soft leathers that are easy to wear, and line potential spots of friction with moleskin. Before taking a new pair of shoes out onto the streets, test them inside at home to make sure that they stay pain-free. Finally, avoid shoes that need to be “broken in” because it’s likely that they don’t fit you properly and may cause blisters.*
Sometimes blisters cannot be avoided. If you get a blister, keep it clean with gentle soap, and try to keep it intact. If your blister pops, clean it again, apply some antibiotic ointment, and cover it with a bandage so that the skin can heal.
