How to Remove Painful Calluses

How to Remove Painful Calluses

Calluses are often caused by the way you walk. Orthotics from your doctor can correct the way you walk, which can help prevent future calluses; but what about treating the ones you already have? Shaving down your own calluses can put you at risk for infections. Instead, you should have them safely shaved by your foot doctor every two to three months.

At home, a pumice stone in a hot shower can help you gently exfoliate your calluses. You can also treat your calluses by moisturizing your feet with a thick cream and sealing the moisture in socks for about an hour.
